The trailer for Terminator: Genisys is out. We get a first glimpse of what Arnold Schwarzenegger looks like as he returns to playing the Terminator 30 years after the original movie. Alan Taylor is in the director’s chair for this one, and the film also stars Jason Clarke as John Connor, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.
So how can it be that a 67-year-old man, even as physically fit as this one is, can play a Terminator? In an interview with Deadspin, James Cameron, who acted in an advisory role for this movie, shed some light on that subject, saying: “I pointed out that the outer covering (of the Terminator) was actually not synthetic, that it was organic and therefore could age. You could theoretically have a Terminator that was sent back in time, missed his target, and ended up just kind of living on in society. Because he is a learning computer and has a brain as a central processor he could actually become more human as he went along without getting discovered.”
