2. Andy Dwyer, ‘Parks and Recreation’ (2009–2015)
Pratt’s role as the biggest loveable idiot in Pawnee, IN, helped launch him into superstardom and brought tons of laughs to fans of the show.
Pratt originally was only supposed to be on a few episodes, but—shocker—the series producers/creators loved what he was doing and found his portrayal so hilarious that he stayed on as a main character for the duration of the series. Pratt’s rise to the near-top of Hollywood is similar to the rise of Dwyer through Pawnee’s City Hall, from shoe shiner to office assistant to public-access TV star.
Andy’s all over the place (he thinks Buckingham Palace is Hogwarts). But as the guaranteed comedic dynamo in a series featuring Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, and Aziz Ansari (think about that), he can be extremely insightful, consistently hilarious, and utterly loveable—not unlike Pratt himself.
