Some parents push their children toward increasingly advanced training regimens, hoping to turn them into budding sports stars. Wade, however, prefers to keep the focus on recreation. “Right now, it’s just for fun,” says the athlete, whose own workout repertoire has been known to include yoga and Pilates. “I don’t want to go all in right now that they’re at a young age, but if they get a little older and it looks like this is something they’re committed to, that’s when I’d turn it up a little bit. As they get older, you’ll start probably introducing your kids to weights, introduce them to running and conditioning, stuff like that. Things that [younger] kids would not want to do.”Back to top
