Fit Fix: This 16-Year-Old Sprinter Is Definitely Faster Than You

Candace Hill / Asics

Fast Phenom: Candace Hill, a 16-year-old high school student in Georgia, has earned the unofficial title of “fastest girl in the world” with a 10.98-second 100-meter dash—the fastest time a female teenager has ever recorded in the U.S. Now, on the cusp of what promises to be a stellar career, she’s signed a 10-year contract with Asics, which will fund her collegiate career (even though she’ll strictly be competing professionally, and not as an NCAA athlete). Before then, though, she not only has a shot to compete in the Rio Olympics—she has a shot to medal there. (For example: Her 10.98 would have tied for silver at the Beijing Olympics.) Celebrity Collisions, Part 1: LeBron James dove into the stands for a loose ball during the Cavs-Thunder game last night—and accidentally slammed right into Ellie Day, the wife of pro golfer Jason Day, who was sitting courtside. Ellie was stretchered off the court and taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, and released Friday morning, the hospital confirmed. [Fox Sports]

Celebrity Collisions, Part 2: So you’re in the Alameda In-N-Out, just trying to get yourself an Animal Style and a Protein Style (no fries, of course) after the Golden State Warriors game, and you’re frustrated because the line is weirdly long. And then you realize the guy in front of you is Drake. And the people in front of him are Steph and Ayesha Curry. NBD. [ABC Bay Area]

“Hoverboard” No More: Amazon U.K. has asked all owners of so-called “hoverboards” (which are actually just Segways without the handles) to throw them out and is offering refunds, apparently over concerns that the little scooter things are just spontaneously combusting. [Yahoo News]
