Fit Fix: Kyrie Irving’s “Uncle Drew” Is Back

Kyrie Irving as Uncle Drew

Morning, gents. Here’s the latest in cool stuff from around the Internet on Thursday, November 12, 2015:

Uncle Drew Is Back: Kyrie Irving’s geriatric alter-ego, Uncle Drew, is back to his old antics dominating neighborhood pickup games. In this episode—the fourth in Pepsi’s brilliant ad series—Uncle Drew is in Miami, where he’s got a score to settle against his equally creaky arch-nemesis Walt, played gamely by Ray Allen. And is that Baron Davis and comedian J.B. Smoove we spy? It is indeed.

By the Power of Greyskull: Mike O’Hearn, a former American Gladiator with a slate of natural bodybuilding titles to his name, apparently has a shot at the roleof He-Man in the upcoming live-action movie about the 80s comic hero. O’Hearn says in an Instagram post that he’d have to drop 30 pounds of lean muscle “so [he’ll] be ready to get the movie”—a statement that comic book movie sites have taken as a sign that he’s been cast in the movie.  (Hollywood types always say the camera adds 10 pounds, but usually they’re not built like Mike O’Hearn.

Sportsman of the Year: Ronda Rousey, Steph Curry, and Jordan Spieth are among the athletes up for Sports Illustrated‘s annual “Sportsman of the Year” award. Also in the running: Triple Crown-winning racehorse American Pharoah, which hardly seems fair, given that the colt has never given a bad press conference in his life even though he’s only 3 years old.

Apple Pay: Apple is planning to take a bite out of PayPal—which owns Venmo—by developing a phone-to-phone payment system, The Wall Street Journal reported. [WSJ]

“Rest in Peace, Turkey!”: WWE legend The Undertaker stormed into The Tonight Show Wednesday night, where he helped Jimmy Fallon and co. prepare for Thanksgiving by performing his signature Tombstone move on a turkey (actually fellow WWE grappler Brad Maddox). [Men’s Fitness]
