Day-Lewis played Gerry Conlon in this real-life biopic, portraying the IRA member accused of the 1974 Guildford pub bombings and later put on trial. The courtroom drama was directed by Jim Sheridan and earned Day-Lewis an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.
