5. Stay on top of your personal hygiene
People expect a certain amount of sweat and smell at the gym. There’s nothing wrong with getting wrung out from a hard workout—that’s why you’re there. “If you sweat, you sweat,” says Boyce. “But if you smell, it affects the atmosphere for other people. Do your best to at the very least wear clothes that don’t amplify this. And try some deodorant, too.”
Take a moment to make sure you aren’t unleashing a stupefying amount of B.O. before heading into the gym, and please don’t put on that shirt you’ve been wearing for the last week or so to do your workouts. You’re a big boy, you can do laundry—and if you’re paying to work out, you can afford a different shirt for each day you hit the gym.
