Pizza is vegetarian. So is mac ‘n’ cheese, fried rice, fettuccine alfredo, and onion rings. If you enjoy these high-calorie, high-fat, low-nutrient foods on the rare occasion, don’t sweat it. But if they are your everyday go-tos, you’re guaranteed to gain weight. You’ll also have to start worrying about your blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels, since diets full of highly processed, empty-calorie foods will fast-track you to diabetes and heart disease.
