Rescuing
Millions of dogs are killed in U.S. shelters every year and the benefits of saving a dog from a shelter’s death row is something to keep in mind when you’re getting your dog. But even with these troubled dogs, you shouldn’t rush in. Make sure everyone in the household is on the same page. The last thing you want after bringing your new pal home is a divorce. Also, be considerate of other pets and children in your household because some dogs may not get along with them.
The size of your home isn’t as significant as you might think when it comes to the size of the dog you plan on adopting. Great Danes, for example, act much like a lapdog and can thrive in a smaller living space. What’s more important is how much you are going to be able to exercise them in order to wear them out so they can live a well adjusted, happy life.
