Name Your Mood

When you sense yourself getting grumpy, label your feelings. “We want to be able to name what’s happening while it’s happening,” says Goldstein. “That has, oftentimes, a cooling effect on the brain.” Understanding where you’re at can give you a foundation to work with and some space from your feelings. It helps you relate to the bad mood.
