Licensed Psychologists vs. Counselors
Licensing requirements vary by state but anyone you plan to see should be licensed. People with the titles counselor, therapist, or social worker (in mental health professions) have some kind of graduate-level training. There are also people out there who call themselves counselors but are not licensed. Rader advises against using someone like this because you can’t be as sure about their qualifications.
