Launder couch covers and all other fabrics that could hold onto dander as often as possible too. “If you do all of these things you can decrease the total overall allergen load,” says Dr. Modena. Also worth trying is swapping carpet for smooth surface floors.
Finally, if you’re smoking inside, stop. “Allergens attach to particulates,” says Dr. Sublett. “They can even attach to tobacco smoke particulates in the air.”Back to top
