Pace Your Alcohol Intake
Another reason to stick to the one drink per hour rule: It’ll help keep you from sweating too much. “At that rate, your body can effectively metabolize the alcohol without it affecting you,” says Moon. “But more drinks than that, and the excess alcohol builds up in your bloodstream and widens blood vessels, bringing blood closer to the skin’s surface. That initiates the sweating process.” Put the brakes on the heavy drinking, especially within 24 hours of doing something sweat-inducing, like going for a hard run.
