Wear Moisture-Wicking Fabrics
Fabrics such as Coolmax or Supplex are made of lightweight synthetic materials designed to wick sweat away from your skin, allowing it to evaporate quickly so you feel more comfortable and dry faster, says Jaliman. Cotton and linen also wick sweat off your skin, absorbing it fast but taking longer to dry. (This explains why the T-shirt you wear to the gym stays damp for so long.) Try to stay away from synthetics such as rayon and nylon, which trap sweat, making you feel drippy and eventually chafed. “These synthetics keep the sweat close to the body, trapping bacteria and leading to bacterial infections too,” she adds.
