Trainer Tip: Become a Juggle Master
When it comes to off-the-pitch drills, there’s none more iconic than juggling, and it isn’t just a party trick. This skill work boosts coordination and is a great lower-body exercise. Start by dropping the ball onto each foot and tapping it upward, no more than waist-high, and creating some slight backspin to keep the ball from getting away from you. And spend extra time improving your nondominant foot. Then work on passing the ball between your feet—and get your quads involved as well. Soon you’ll be heading it to your fellow players.
