1. Down dog to plank, to child’s pose and reverse
2 sets of 10 reps
While U.S. Speed Skating does a slightly different cycle here, using a TRX, Lafera says this yoga cycle is, “A killer app,” and prefers it for loosening everything from hip flexors to hamstrings to the low back, all while engaging the shoulders and thoracic spine.
Keys include bringing the shoulder blades onto the back rather than letting them dip outward when you’re in downward dog, and in child’s pose, if you cannot get your chest onto your knees, widen the knees farther apart to increase range-of-motion, ideally until you can get your forehead on the floor.
