“When people fear you, it is the most intoxicating sensation a man can possess,” says Jude Law’s character, King Vortigern, in this final trailer for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. And while that seems to be the case for most in this highly dramatic trailer, not so for the badass, Arthur, played by Charlie Hunnam.
As you’ll see in the trailer—the final in a series that kicked off at Comic-Con last summer—the viewer gets a glance at Arthur’s scrappy younger years and the tough upbringing that prepared him for the ultimate battle ahead. Those lessons soon come in handy after his father is murdered and his Uncle Vort steals the crown. The suspense culminates when Arthur, the rightful heir to the throne, makes his attempt to pull Excalibur from the stone.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, the adventure into Arthuriana is rife with tension and promises of epic clashes between bitter rivals. Throw in some dragons, oversized elephants, bloody swordfights, and Led Zeppelin on the soundtrack, and you’ve got yourself a must-see movie for fans of the genre.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword from Warner Bros. Pictures/Village Roadshow opens in select theaters on May 12 and worldwide on May 19.
