The CrossFit boom continues! In 2008 the total number of CrossFit affiliate boxes across the United States stood at 400, today there are more than 4000 boxes across the country—and there’s no signs of the trend letting up anytime soon (maybe because it kicks your a$$ and gets you in shape).
On Thursday, August 16th, Reebok, the title sponsor of the annual CrossFit Games, officially opened its 2-in-1 CrossFit box and store in midtown, New York City. Men’s Fitness was present for the opening of the box and got the opportunity to break in their new Nano 2.0s with a special WOD lead by 2012 CrossFit Games Winners, Rich Froning Jr. and Annie Thorisdottir.
After the workout, the champ Rich Froning spoke with MF Editor Mike Simone about the day’s WOD, his training programming and how folks that are already familier with fitness and training can transition into CrossFit.
CrossFit 5th Avenue is located in between 37th and 38th street in Midtown Manhattan. The box includes Monday – Friday workouts (WODs) from 5am-8pm and Saturday workouts at 9am and 11am.
