1. In front of the goal, position yourself sideways to the net with your skates parallel, knees bent, leaning forward slightly with the puck directly in front of you.
2. Raise your stick back until your bottom hand is at shoulder level.
3. Keeping your arms straight, shift your weight to your back skate, spot your target, and bring the stick forward in one explosive movement, pulling with your top hand and pushing with the bottom while simultaneously shifting your body weight forward.
4. Strike the puck on its bottom edge, following all the way through, bringing your stick back up in front of you.
