Don’t Forget to Have Fun!
This is your first run. Enjoy yourself! If you’re in a city, use the run to explore a new neighborhood, or pick a favorite spot as your destination or turnaround point. Outside an urban environment, find a quiet, scenic route that will reward your effort with intriguing vistas. Wherever you run, feel free to slow to a walk, or even pause to inspect, say, an historic plaque set into a boulder, or the menu of a new restaurant, or to pluck a strand of wild chives from a field. The only rules for running are the ones you make for yourself. At the very end of the run, sprint the last 100 yards or so. It will feel incredible.
