You’ll Need Some Wicking Apparel As Well
When it comes to the rest of your outfit, wicking is again the watchword. Running makes you sweat, sweat makes you miserable, and heavy cotton makes it all worse. For shorts, find a zip-pocketed pair that reaches mid-thigh and, vitally, has a liner, so you can go commando without, uh, frightening the neighbors. Get a T-shirt that’s neither too baggy nor too tight—that “fits.” And actually, if you have an old lightweight cotton tee you love, just wear that. It’s okay. Shorts and a T-shirt should work for any temperature down to the mid-40s; below that, you might want a long-sleeved running shirt, or thin jacket, but I’m writing this in June, so don’t worry about that yet.
