Why it works: In ACE’s study on the best triceps moves scientists used sensors to see exactly how much work was being done by the muscle. The triangle push-up required the most muscle activity along the largest swath of the tricep. Bottom line: Don’t skimp on these.
How to do it: Start in push-up position with thumbs and index fingers forming a triangle on the floor. Bend elbows to lower down, keeping arms as close to sides as possible, until chest hits the floor with back flat. Push through hands to return to start; repeat. Do three sets of eight reps.
