Vegetable oil doesn’t deserve the bad rap it has, says a new University of Missouri clinical trial review. Animal studies have linked veggie oil’s linoleic acid to heart disease and cancer, but human studies show that a moderate amount of the oil may lower cholesterol and combat cardiovascular disease. “Soybean and canola oils may be better choices than corn, safflower, and sunflower,” says study scribe Kevin Fritsche, Ph.D.
