Carrots
Active Ingredient: Vitamin A
What It Does: As you age, your skin is affected by what’s known as oxidative stress, a chemical process where healthy skin cells break down, causing wrinkles and a loss of elasticity. Antioxidants are naturally occurring substances in food that protect or slow down this aging process, and Vitamin A, in the form of beta-carotene, is one such antioxidant. While it can be toxic in superhigh doses (pretty hard to get that much naturally), beta-carotene plays an important role in repairing the tissues in your body.
