Active Ingredient: Essential fatty acids
What It Does: These so-called “good fats” help maintain the cellular membrane of your skin cells. That’s important because healthy membranes allow each cell to hold a lot of water, giving skin a healthy, robust appearance. As you age, weakened cell membranes allow water to leak out, causing skin to lose its tone. Fatty acids also play a key role in maintaining strong, healthy hair.
Other Sources: The essential fatty acids most beneficial to your skin are omega 3s and omega 6s. Foods such as almonds and sunflowers seeds (omega 6s) and swordfish (omega 3s) are all good sources.
