Why It Works: This is a move that Todd Durkin, a trainer on the NBC show Strong, comes back to time and time again. Using suspension straps gives you a break from staring up at the ceiling and provides a unique challenge. It also requires stabilization throughout your entire body — from your shoulders to your core and down to your quads and calf muscles.
How to Do It: Hang straps from someplace sturdy, like a pull-up bar. Start with the handles at about chest level, or possibly slightly lower. Grabbing the straps, walk your feet away until you’re in a push-up-like position. Keeping your body straight and your core tight, lower your upper body like you’re doing a push-up. Pause for a second at the bottom, then push back to the starting position.Back to top
