There have been so many simulation racers released in the last decade that you start to forget why controlling a car in a video game is supposed to be fun – you can’t die in a crash! And back comes Twisted Metal, not a moment too soon. Brainless arcade physics plus an arsenal of missiles, mini guns, and frickin’ laser beams bring the fun back to driving in a video game. It gets silly—and not when you drive away scot-free from a 10-car pileup—but if you start to pay attention to the story. So don’t do that. Just drive and shoot.
