Dogs can benefit from regular walking/running just like us humans. Loosen up those muscles with a warm up and take a jog for endurance and conditioning. For a harder workout, try jogging a in the woods or a hiking trail. In a three-month study by the University of Missouri, older adults who walked dogs showed a big improvement in fitness over their counterparts who walked with human friends, and even increased their walking speed by 28 percent. But, certain dogs have different levels of stamina. So, your Chihuahua may be better suited for a walk than a full out run.
