Maintaining good health is more important to sleep quality than age, suggests a recent study from the University of Pittsburgh. “The message is that sleep doesn’t have to be bad just because we’re 60 or older,” says psychiatrist Timothy H. Monk. “There are a number of reasons people sleep poorly, many of them linked to ill health and poor fitness. But if you factor in maintaining your health and staying fit, you can sleep as well as younger adults.”
