Hang Power Clean
Due to recent fitness trends, many coaches have opted against doing Olympic lifts at all. But in moderation and with the proper cues, they’re excellent tools for the gym. The hang power clean is probably the easiest variation of the clean to learn, and presents the lowest risk of injury. Be sure you possess the mobility to catch the bar with a proper elbow position (they should face up high to create a “shelf” for the bar to sit on), like in this video. Use the body to drive the weight up, and shrug hard in your second pull. Again, a small “stomp” on the ground is OK here.
