The Beer Mile Gets a World Championship
Once a fringe pursuit, the Beer Mile took center stage recently with new challengers and the first Beer Mile World Championship held December 3rd in Austin, Texas. The goal: chug four beers and run four laps on a regulation track in the fastest time possible (without puking or falling over). This year's winner, Canadian beer miler Corey Gallagher, 27, with a near-record time of 5:00.
