5. Step on the scale every day
Studies show that people who get on the scale every day are more likely to maintain weight at the desired level—or reach the level they want. This doesn’t burn more calories in and of itself—other than the couple calories it takes to walk to the scale and step on it—but it does keep you focused on a performance lifestyle and being mindful of activity and calorie consumption. It also develops the habit of doing something on a daily basis. For consistency’s sake, weigh yourself at the same time every day.
