In the soccer world, David Beckham is a legend in his own right.

Now, the star footballer joins another legend (albeit a fictional one) in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. In a newly released clip from the film, a gnarled-up version of Beckham (thanks to quite a bit of prosthetic makeup) instructs Charlie Hunnam, who stars as the titular character, to take a shot at removing mythical Excalibur from the stone.

Though the clip may be short, it’s our first real sneak peek at Beckham’s acting chops, which, for a professional soccer player-turned H&M model, aren’t half bad.

Check out the full clip, and decide for yourself whether or not Beckham has future movie star potential, in the video below:

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword will hit theaters nationwide on May 12, 2017.
