Whether he’s playing outlaw biker and gun smuggler Jax Teller in Sons of Anarchy or monster-crushing pilot Raleigh Becket in Pacific Rim, it’s pretty obvious that Charlie Hunnam is no stranger to playing a badass (or being one in real life, for that matter).

His latest role as Arthur in the upcoming King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, however, is set to catapult the bulky British actor to literal legend status—thanks in no small part to the insanely demanding training program he underwent to get in shape for the film.

In a recent video posted to the film’s Twitter account, we get a closer look at the sword training, boxing sessions, and intense strength workouts Hunnam took on to transform his mind and body into that of medieval England’s O.G. superhero, King Arthur.

The results? Nothing short of epic.
