Weekend One-Up: Hang Clean Challenge

Are you a workout warrior looking for a challenge? You’ve come to the right place. It’s time to test your abilities——and your mettle!

Each week our fitness expert, CrossFit competitor, and owner of New York City’s Reebok CrossFit 5th Ave., Nathan Forster, lays out a quick workout that measures your level of strength, speed, power, endurance, and/or skill. Think you can “one-up” our guy? Get ready to throw down, and let’s see what you’ve go

This week’s challenge:
Complete 30 hang cleans with 115 pounds as quickly as possible.

The benefits:
The hang clean is a full-body exercise that improves power output of the hips, legs, and shoulders. Learning how to properly execute the hang clean will build a foundation for more advanced movements such as: the power clean and the snatch.

Athletes participating in sports that demand “explosivity” such as basketball and football will see improvements in their jumping and sprinting abilities.

Don’t forget to share your score on the Men’s Fitness Facebook page.
