North Pole Marathon – North Pole Camp
In the North Pole Marathon you’ll run across Arctic ice floes literally on the top of the world: the Geographic North Pole. For a hefty fee of about $14,500, you’ll race on six to 12 feet of ice—the only barrier between you and 12,000-foot salty depths. In fact, not a single section of this marathon covers land. With temperatures hovering around April’s 40 degrees below F, icicles forming on your eyelashes, eyebrows, and nose will be the least of your worries. (northpolemarathon.com)
