9. The Astros Are Primed for a World Series Repeat
Not since the Yankees’ three-season streak from 1998 to 2000 has a team managed to claim back-to-back World Series titles. But the world champion Houston Astros are well-positioned to do just that. In January, the team added Gerrit Cole to its already stout pitching lineup, led by the one-two punch of Dallas Keuchel and Justin Verlander, veteran Charlie Morton, and breakouts Lance McCullers Jr. and Brad Peacock. That’s six starting throwers. And as the saying goes, you can never have too much pitching.
