The 2013 Reebok CrossFit Games absolutely went off! The competition was fierce and the athletes continued to put on an electrifying show as they continue to get bigger, stronger, better, and faster. This year nearly 25,000 spectators (up from 9,000 in 2012) packed into the StubHub Center in Carson, CA, to watch the fittest athletes in the world battle it out for the $275,000 grand prize.
We caught up with the father of CrossFit, founder and CEO Greg Glassman, and had our Men’s Fitness CrossFit correspondent Nathan Forster grab some pointers from some of the best coaches in the business including:
– Carl Paoli, a 31-year-old San Francisco gym/box owner. Paoli is most well known for training two-time women’s champion Annie Thorisdottir. Paoli is releasing a book in 2014.
– Dr. Kelly Starrett, most known for his excellence in educating athletes on improved mobility and proper functional movement. Starrett is a mobility master, author of the book Becoming a Supple Leopard, and owner/operator of mobilitywod.com.
