The Monstars Are (Likely) Coming Back
Plot details are under wraps for Space Jam 2, but it’s very likely that no matter what the storyline is, the Monstars will be involved.
The Monstars, of course, were the villains of the original film, stealing the talents of famous NBA stars and battling the Looney Tunes’ “Toon Squad” along with Michael Jordan in a basketball game.
Even if they don’t show up, we know they’re still a vivid part of the pop imagination: In honor of the 20th anniversary of the film (and potentially the sequel), Jordan Brand has put out a campaign and line of apparel featuring the villains. The company released a short teaser clip and some posters celebrating the return.
