2. More Bizarre Ballpark Food
For two decades, new fancy bigleague ballparks have tried to attract new fancy fans with new fancy food, like sushi. The thing is, you can get sushi anywhere. What MLB needs is more weird food, which is an MiLB staple. You haven’t lived, for one, until you’ve tried a Sweenie Donut Dog, a specialty of the Wilmington (Del.) Blue Rocks: a hot dog inside a doughnut bun, garnished with bacon bits and raspberry jam. Then there’s the Rocky Mountain Oyster Burger, served at Colorado Springs’ Pioneer League ballpark. It’s a burger topped with the very best, locally raised Rocky Mountain oysters, more commonly known as deep-fried bull testicles.
