Ever had a hankering to kick back with Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban? How about tee off with Chris Berman? Maybe hold the giant American flag on the field during an NFL game? Today eBay, in partnership with ESPN and The V Foundation, gave bidders with deep pockets the chance to live out their dream sports memories.
All proceeds from the promotion titled “Go Behind the Game,” which will end before the ESPY’s air on July 16, will benefit The V Foundation for Cancer Research. From autographed merch to athletic excursions, more than 250 items went up for auction. Here are some of our favorites.
Before We Begin
Watch the uplifting speech given by Jimmy V at the 1993 ESPY’s. It will give you the proper inspiration and justification to pay $7,000 for a visit to the set of ABC’s Nashville.
Desk from Set of ESPN’s ‘SportsCenter’
You can own the same desk that’s heard Chris Berman’s rasp and Stuart Scott’s “booyahs” for the past decade. Enjoy your own homemade meals on the same surface that’s been filmed more than 32,000 times. The current bid is at $10,100 and according to the product description, “talent and catchphrases are not included.”
Ride in the Goodyear Blimp
For one hour, you and four friends could soar over Los Angeles in sports’ most iconic helium-filled aircraft. The Goodyear blimp started offering aerial footage of sporting events in 1955, although we assume this ride won’t be in the same one. The current bid is at $2,325 and promises to be a “must-have bucket list item for anyone seeking an item that can’t typically be obtained.”
Watch a Dallas Mavericks Game with Mark Cuban
The most expensive item on the list, currently at $46,200, gets you face time with one of the NBA’s most outspoken owners. Be sure to get on the billionaire’s good side before the game because according to the fine print, “seating location to be determined by Mark Cuban when the game selection is decided.” Although for the price of a new car, we can assume he won’t throw you in the nosebleeds.
Lead Vehicle Ride in the NYC Marathon
It’s hard enough to nab a spot in the NYC Marathon, which typically receives more than 100,000 applicants for just over 50,000 slots. When you bid on this item you won’t even have to slog through 26.2 miles. Instead, for $1,025, you can relax while watching the elite runners duke it out through the streets of the Big Apple.
Watch Derek Jeter’s Last Game
Eat With the Ball State Football Team
For only $1.99, coming in as the cheapest item, you can grab some grub with the 57th ranked college football team in the nation, according to USA Today’s pre-season standings. They may have lost in last year’s GoDaddy Bowl against Arkansas State, but for less than two bucks, you get a meal, game tickets, and the chance to experience Muncie, Indiana. Quite a deal.
