It might be a new era in the WWE, but for UFC, the two huge stories of the summer involve a pair of the biggest names from professional wrestling over the past decade.

While Brock Lesnar returning to the octagon for the upcoming UFC 200 event while still under contract with the WWE came as a shock, fans have been wondering when former world champ CM Punk was going to make his debut. After a series of injuries, some wondered if it was ever going to happen.

The wait is over. Punk (whose real name is Phil Brooks) announced on the UFC Unfiltered podcast that his first fight will be against Mickey Gall at UFC 203 on September 10.

"I understand some of these guys who aren't making what they probably should make and they see a guy like me kind of come in and quasi get the red carpet rolled out for me," he said of all the hype surrounding his debut since signing with UFC in December of 2014. "But at the end of the day it's still going to be a fucking fistfight inside of a cage."
