Tell us if you’ve heard this one before: The New England Patriots won the Super Bowl. Again.
The last time New England played for the Lombardi Trophy, it turned out to be one of the most exciting Super Bowl games ever—the Patriots won with a last-second interception of Russell Wilson at the goal line by Malcolm Butler, stunning the world to take the 28-24 victory. Their victory on Sunday night—the first overtime in Super Bowl history—easily surpassed that.
After making it to the Super Bowl for the ninth time in team history—and the seventh time under the guidance of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady—the Pats ended their season with a phenomenal championship win, their fifth as a franchise, surging in the second half and scoring 31 unanswered points to conquer the Atlanta Falcons, 34-28.
But it was no easy victory. The Atlanta Falcons were the NFL’s highest-scoring offense in 2016, and while they came in with plenty of big guns on offense and defense—Julio Jones, Devonta Freeman, Sean Weatherspoon, Mohamed Sanu, and Keanu Neal—and opened up a seemingly insurmountable lead early, the Patriots and their shredded dudes held the line and finished the season with the biggest W of them all.
Even though Rob Gronkowski wasn’t active for the Super Bowl (which everyone but Falcons fans were upset about), the Pats had plenty of talent entering the battle. And while Bill Belichick has never been a fan of social media—what he calls “SnapFace” and “InstaChat”—that didn’t stop some of his Patriots players from posting their workouts on Instagram.
Here’s how 11 players on the Patriots got ripped and helped the team earn its fifth Super Bowl win:
11. Elandon Roberts, Linebacker
10. Tre’ Jackson, Guard
9. Chris Long, Defensive End
8. Duron Harmon, Safety
7. Patrick Chung, Safety
6. James White, Running Back
5. Trey Flowers, Defensive End
4. Michael Floyd, Wide Receiver
3. Julian Edelman, Wide Receiver
2. Malcolm Butler, Cornerback
Yeah, he’s shredded:
1. Chris Hogan, Wide Receiver
He may look small at 6′1″, but Chris Hogan is jacked:
