The marathon is a cruel beast, particularly in the final miles when—no matter how good the race has gone thus far—things can fall apart, fast. International superstars, it turns out, are not immune to the dreaded wall.

On Sunday afternoon, Kevin Hart finished the New York City Marathon in a very respectful 4:05, particularly considering he squeezed training between a rigorous touring and film schedule. This was his first attempt at the distance.

The 38-year-old had previously predicted he could finish in 3:40 to 3:45, a time he was on pace to achieve at the halfway mark. But, things began to deteriorate around mile 22, when muscle cramps forced him to walk a few times, he said in an Instagram video after the race.

Apparently, this won’t be his last 26.2. He said in the video he hopes to run at least four more. Perhaps he’s gunning for his fellow comedian Will Ferrell’s PR—3:57 at the 2003 Boston Marathon.
