UFC fighter Jon “Bones” Jones says he’s been playing video games his entire life. Now, the UFC light heavyweight champ gets to be on the cover of one. EA Sports—the developers behind Madden—tabbed Jones to be the first cover guy of the new series EA Sports UFC. But who’s the faceless fighter that’ll be sharing cover space with him? You decide. From now until December 1, you can go to UFC.com/covervote and choose from 16 ass-kickers, from Georges St. Pierre to Ronda Rousey, to share the cover. EA Sports UFC, available for Xbox One and PS4, won’t hit shelves until Spring 2014. But in the meantime, die-hard gamers can drool over such features as MMAi, which lets you alter your gameplan mid-fight, and full-body deformation, which lets you see fighters’ flesh react to punches and submissions. The title promises to bring unprecedented realism to the Octagon.
At 23 years old, Jones (19-1) became the youngest champion in UFC history. He holds the record for most consecutive UFC Light Heavyweight title defenses with six. A native of Rochester, New York, Jones has a background in wrestling, jiu-jitsu and muay thai. We sat down with Jones, now 26, to chat gaming, training, fighting—even acting. “I’ve met with a few [Hollywood] people,” Jones tells Men’s Fitness. “I haven’t ad a chance to read for anyone yet, but I’m excited for the opportunity.” Watch the video for more highlights from our interview, then click on the trailer below to check out EA Sports UFC.
