NBA Awards 2019: Samuel L. Jackson Leads Star-Studded Presenters; Shaq Hosting Event Live on TNT

The 2019 NBA Awards will have some major star power this year. Turner Sports and the NBA announced that actor Samuel L. Jackson, along with comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish, NBA on TNT analyst and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, actress Issa Rae and many others will serve as presenters for the awards. Adding even more star power to things: Shaquille O’Neal will be hosting.

The 2019 NBA Awards presented by Kia will air on TNT on Monday, June 24, at 9 p.m. ET, giving fans the chance to watch as some of the top players in the league earn some hardware. This will be the third annual NBA Awards show, with awards like the Kia NBA MVP, Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Kia NBA Rookie of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award being given out, among other awards for players.

Along with Jackson and the presenters mentioned above, comedian Hasan Minhaj, actor Justin Hartley, WNBA Champion and NBA TV analyst Candace Parker, supermodel and entrepreneur Ashley Graham and comedian Amanda Seales will also be presenting. The event will also have Marv Albert as the live show announcer, models Jesse Conrad and Hilary Cruz in as trophy presenters, while DJ Kiss will play the music for the night,. The event will be taking place at the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles.

Along with the major NBA awards given to players, basketball icons Larry Bird and Magic Johnson will be co-recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award as part of the event. Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts will also be receiving the Sager Strong Award, which is presented annually to an “individual who has been a trailblazer while exemplifying courage, faith, compassion and grace,” according to the NBA press release.
