2. Houston Rockets vs. San Antonio Spurs – Thu., Feb 1 at 8 p.m. ET on TNT
Fit player to watch: Chris Paul (Rockets) – The 32-year-old point guard is playing like his much-younger self for the Rockets this season, helping James Harden fuel his year for the ages while dishing out nearly nine assists per game. How has Paul stayed in shape this late in his career? “One of the biggest keys has been stretching and foam-rolling,” Paul told Men’s Fitness earlier in the season. “Every night before bed I’ll do a routine, and you can just feel such a huge difference when you get up. I sound like an old man, but there’s a lot less aches and pains.”
The Rockets have been the best team in the NBA not named the Warriors, and Houston could end up being the biggest threat to Golden State making it to a fourth straight finals. If the Rockets want to do that, they’ll likely have to go through the San Antonio Spurs at some point. The Spurs are third in the West despite not having Kawhi Leonard healthy this season, and this matchup could be a preview of the playoffs. Harden comes into the game leading the league in scoring, and he just dropped a triple-double on Tuesday while scoring 60 points, so he should be feeling pretty good about himself.
