3. Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Washington Wizards – Fri, Nov. 3
Players to watch: LeBron James (Cavaliers) and John Wall (Wizards)
The Wizards and Cavs usually find a way to play entertaining games during the regular season. Last time the teams met, back in February of last season, James made a fadeaway three-pointer to force overtime, and then led Cleveland to a 140-135 win.
As if he hasn’t done enough in his career already, James is about to hit another major milestone. James came into the week with 28,959 career points, and with 41 more points scored, he’ll be the seventh player in NBA history to reach 29,000. Adding even more to the milestone: James, who turns 33 years old in December, will be the youngest player to score 29,000 points in league history, overtaking Kobe Bryant (33 years, 199 days). How about another one? James has the chance to become only the second player in league history (Michael Jordan) to score 10 or more points in 800 straight games. James started his streak on on Jan. 6, 2007, and, coming into Week 3 of the season, it stands at 798 games (Jordan’s record is 866 straight games).
The Cavaliers host the Wizards on Friday, November 3 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
