NCAA Tournament 2013: Biggest X-Factors in the Sweet 16

NCAA Tournament 2013: Biggest X-Factors in the Sweet 16

There are two things that really get us—and ok, probably most college hoops fans out there—pumped up about March Madness. One is watching teams like Duke and Michigan State advance in the tournament year after year. The other is a good upset, like Wichita State’s win over number-one seed Gonzaga. Yes, they screw up our brackets, but they also keep us on our toes.

In preparation for the Sweet 16 games kicking off tonight, Bleacher Report has compiled a list of nine Sweet 16 match-ups that could shake up the tourney. Here are two we’re psyched about:

No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 6 Arizona: Ohio is famous for its defense, but the Buckeyes were more focused on scoring during their first two games of the tournament. There’s no telling what could happen when OSU faces an explosive Arizona offense Thursday night.

No. 9 Wichita State vs. No. 14 La Salle: Like we said, the fact that the Shockers have made it to the Sweet 16 is a little, well, shocking. What’s more surprising though is that they’re matched up against La Salle, a team that also took down a top-four seed.
