4. Killer Cam kills the Packers’ playoff hopes
If the Panthers are indeed for sale, we know one guy who wants in on the purchase. And whomever buys the team will already have a franchise quarterback at their disposal: Cam Newton notched 58 yards on the ground to record his fourth season with at least 600 yards rushing, which ties him with Michael Vick for most in NFL history.
Oh, and he beat the Packers, 31-24, in style and to keep pace with the 10-4, division-leading Saints. The loss all but knocked GB out of contention, which really put a damper on Aaron Rodgers’ return the gridiron. Rodgers, returning with 13 screws in his shoulder, was 26-of-45 for 290 yards with three scores and as many picks. Not bad for a guy who hasn’t played since Week 6, but not good enough to beat Carolina.Back to top
